An Gairdín Beo is a garden space that welcomes the meeting of different minds.
As winter approaches, the raised beds become dormant as winter approaches, losing their colour and growth. The ‘Embedded’ design workshops offer an opportunity for Community groups, including St Laserians special school, Rohingyas, the Ukrainian community and the Active retired, to design and create 3D pieces to bring colour and interest to our winter garden.
Through the workshops, the groups can co-design using easily accessible materials from Recreate Ireland and the garden itself. These pieces would be “embedded” in place in the raised beds, brightening them in the winter. Created collaboratively, each piece will invite discussion and learning about sustainable design in the natural environment.
