During this symposium, Fibreshed Ireland will explore the possibilities for developing a climate-beneficial textile industry within Ireland, using regenerative farming methods that increase the carbon sequestration potential of the soil annually, effectively offsetting more carbon than it emits during its production.
We will hear the perspectives of farmers and designers in the areas of Irish wool, Irish linen, natural dyes and slow fashion. There will also be time for networking among industry peers. Additionally, the event will serve to kickstart our own Climate Beneficial™ pilot programme, where we’ll work with ten wool-producing farms to measure the carbon stocks in their soil and explore ways to improve them each year.
